Have received several of these calls but have never been home until tonight. The man said he was from a survey company outsourced by the University of Wyoming conducting surveys on tobacco use and opinions of tobacco use. I did answer the survey questions: they were very generic and did not ask for any real personal information(name, address, place of employment) but did ask my opinion on smoking in my home, workplace, public areas, outdoor public areas and schools. He informed me that at the end of the survey he could give me a contact number for someone responsible for the survey. I got the number and a name. It is a Wyoming number but there was no answer just a voicemail for a Tiffany Cook
Dept. Of health. I signed up for quitnow.com and it was a follow up on the progress. He did ask if I was driving, but for safety reasons. Survey on support for help on quitting smoking, I was waiting for a personal question, but nothing personal was asked. He even congratulated me on 7 months tobacco free and went on his way. Number shows based out of Wyoming, even though I'm in NM. Sometimes these contact lists are shared by agencies to help survey and verify the cost for these services.
