back story.. my huband got a call while he was driving from some magazine people, and for some reason he gave them our card number over the phone, he THEN called me to find out why these people were calling.. i handle all the finances.. i called them back and got everything canceled, and now my husband gets calls from these people about once a week, they are "checking up" on how the subscriptions are going, if he is recieving them ok, etc.. he always tells them that they will have to talk to his wife about it and then hangs up on them.. he finally remembered to give me the number and i called them back.. they said that they were a survey company that works for over 400 companies that sell the subscriptions and couldnt give me the numbers for the magazines that we were supposed to be recieving.. he said if we weren't getting any of them than it just may be not updated in their computers that everything was canceled.. told me that he remove our phone number from the call list, i even told him that last week i registered on the government do not call list as well.. so we will see what happens.. very, very frustrating to get rid of these people..
Received several phone calls on my cell phone, but no message. When I was finally available to answer, a man named Criss asked for one of my clients by name. I asked who exactly was calling and he started with a little attitude. When I set him straight telling him that he was calling my personal cell phone, he made a big deal out of it, and would have to look right into it. (more pissy tone) He finally told me he was from Western Renewal Service and have my boss call 877-299-8272. Some quick research in the net showed it is a magazine subscription service. Nothing good was reported about them. Just more weird calls like mine and from other numbers too.
Have received several calls from this number saying they are a magazine service. Want me to verify address, job title, birthday all of which I have never used or provided to any magazine service. Each time they call they get very rude when I won't answer. They say they have a credit card on file but I've never paid for a magazine with a credit card. In fact the credit card number they provide is one that was stolen in a breach with Chase.
Not sure what to do but they say they won't stop calling me until I provide them with the information they want.
They do the same thing to me! They say they have a CC on file but I need to verify the number and they get very angry when I don't give them my CC number.. not sure how they got all my information (phone number, address, etc...)
