Do NOT call this number back even though the IRS is going to sue you for money owed. FIRST, the IRS NEVER, NEVER telephone people. SECOND, if you answer, NEVER, NEVER give out social security number, credit card number, address, phone #, date of birth, etc. THIRD, if they ask to go buy money cards or iTune cards, etc. NEVER, NEVER do so. Again, the IRS doesn't phone people; and should you really owe the IRS money, they don't want money cards, iTunes, etc. They'd want a check.
This is the latest iteration of the IRS scam. It's a generic computerized recording that says this is officially your final notice, that IRS is filing lawsuit (the silly wording suggests it was translated from another language) against you. Call for more information on this case file. I certainly hope no one is actually falling for this nonsense, but if you get this call and even think for a moment that there may be a shred of legitimacy, THERE IS NOT! This is a scam artist trying to steal your information and your money. If the actual IRS has a beef with you, you will receive notice in the mail. They will send you multiple letters before they elevate anything.
