Caller identified himself as a Windows operating systems representative. He tried to convince me that my computer has a dangerous virus that will kill it if action is not taken quickly. He would guide me through the needed steps to eliminate the virus over the phone. He was trying to gain access to my computer.
Basically some thickly-accented sand-[***] no doubt calling from a phone-bank in southern Asia claiming to work for Microsoft and that I have a computer virus that puts my computer at risk. Obviously they are attempting to remotely access the computer in order to glean information to engage in identity fraud. Nice try [***], but no soup for you!
