Called me 10 minutes ago. Knew from the get-go (non-existent 187 prefix) it was a scam, so decided to mess with them a little..
Female scammer: "Hi this is so-and-so from SRI, we're a licensed contractor doing work in your neighborhood blah blah blah"
Me: "What's your contractor's license number?"
Female scammer: "We don't give that out over the phone"
Me: "HAHAHAHAHA! You don't give it out over the phone because you don't have one, you're calling me from a spoofed number, you're a crook and a scam artist, and you can go straight to hell!" <click>
Check your area code for available prefixes. Chances are that 187 isn't among them, which means you can safely block all 187 prefixed numbers--assuming you have a Panasonic phone. Unfortnately, Android cell phones won't let you block spoofed numbers.
