This is not true and a myth! Illegal callers do not need to get the DNC which has to be paid for along with information proof of business. The illegal callers use dialers and other methods such as computer and all they have to do is plumb in numbers from a to z.. The DNC can't protect you from illegal callers and is only aimed for telemarketers.
These spammers get our numbers from the Do Not Call List that they are supposed to use to remove numbers from their database. But they know that all the numbers in the Do Not Call list are good numbers. And they know that the govt will do nothing to them for breaking this ridiculous DNC law --- after all, these scammers are above any law. If you do not recognize the number in your caller ID, simply press talk then quickly press OFF. Make 'em pay for the call and shut them down before anything is said.
At least two calls on the caller id from this number. The bulk of the calls I've received the last few weeks are Clearview Energy. I've had six different numbers from them, I've asked they stop calling me three times a day, and they don't. Adding this one to the list below:

Called twice before, one time hung up when
I answered. I tried to call back, but recording said it was a disconnected number. They called again today and I answered there was about 15 second delay, then some guy said he was from the California Energy Initiative and wanted to save me money. I mentioned I am a renter, so I can't really change anything about the place I live but he kept on going saying it didn't matter. I finally got rid of him by saying my bills aren't that high. I told him to take me off their list. Hope it happens...
My Turn! Called at 2:53 PM, CID showed Day Janna (Janna Day?), answering machine picked up call, heard some idiot asking for me by name. One more complaint for the DNC.
