Got call from this # on a Sunday. I let it ring and (surprise!) they left no message.

Called me on a Sunday afternoon. Didn't answer, left no message. Probably a telemarketer. Blocked them

I answered.  He said, "Hi. Oh. This is a telemarketing call, but I can't do anything in your area.  Sorry."

Called today and I answered. I said I was on do-not-call list. He said nope, you're not on my list. I said remove my number and don't call again. He said No, I think I'll call you again tomorrow. He was a smart [***].
