I received a voicemail regarding an old debt. The man stated that I was being sued for over $7,000 & they would threaten to show up at my home &/or workplace. When I called back a lady assisted me & stated that we can settle it out of court for about $600. They knew everything from my old e-mail address, to an old employer, & even a couple family member's names. As soon as I started to question her about the debt she hung up. That's when I googled the # & found similar posts related to that # so it was a relief, but still stressful.
I received several calls from this number in the past several weeks but they never left a message until today - it is scam saying there is a lawsuit against me and call now and settle out of court
These guys are a joke, first they say the debt owed was on a payday loan of $630.00 and before the call ended they said the total amount due was going to be $7,500.00 plus the $630.00 and in order for them to stop any legal action a payment needed to be sent to them immediately. If they were legitimate, they wouldn't be using a phone number associated within your local area in this case 310-282-7538 and then tell you to call 877-409-4322.
