We got the same call but a different name. Edward something (my husband answered). Husband tried to call the number back and it rang once then nothing. The very next day they called back. Asked for some person. Told them wrong number. called again same day. Let answering machine answer. They hung up. I called them back and a recording said the number was changed to - - - - then it said I dialed wrong. Check number and try again.
A woman keeps calling me from this number and sometimes private number saying its the California sheriff's department and she wants to verify if someone is going to be available to receive some legal documents for Maritza Santana and I keep saying she has the wrong phone number and this b**** won't listen !!
Total scam. There is no state level sheriff in California or any other state. Process servers never call ahead to see if anyone is going to be there. Report these calls to the California Attorney General's Office. Impersonating a law enforcement officer is a crime.

They keep calling me from this number asking me to accept documents for my ex husband I was married to 15 years ago, I have no idea where the bum is! And I don't know how they got my number. I had to block then as they keep calling me.
I get this call now and then the last couple of months. Don't even bother to answer, just reject it. I have grown immune to these "legal or law enforcement" sounding threats. Best strategy is not answer any call unless you recognize the number.
