Started getting this call this morning about a minute ago. Who is it? They left no voicemail. I don't need no more idiots calling me. I am already making arrangements on all of my other bills. Those that are within the statutes of limitations and I KNOW I owe them. I am in constant communication with them. So to the idiots calling me on old debts beyond 10 years...you got a surprise coming! I am not talking to you. BAM!

We have to be careful of so-called debt collection companies calling. They may be trying to collect on debts beyond the statutes of limitations. Does not mean that they cannot still collect because the law states they can, however, there are collection practices they have to follow otherwise they are breaking every law possible. They are not allowed to represent themselves as legal entities such as lawyers or law offices, they are not allowed to threaten you with being arrested, they are not allowed to threaten the safety of your family (which one did to me and because of it the originally creditor dismissed my account altogether when I took the matter to their attention), they are not allowed to harass you with continuous calls throughout a single day, and the list goes on. You are within your rights to report them to the proper authorities. Document all incidents, including time, who you spoke to, the date, the number(s) they call from, and the complete nature of the call. You are within your legal rights to ask for proof of the debt they are referring to. Do not provide any vital information unless you know for sure who you are talking to -- identity theft is still on the rise. Protect yourself whether or not you owe the debt.
I have started getting phone calls at least twice a day.
Same routine every time. The phone rings. I pickup and say hello. There is nothing but silence for a few seconds, then they hang up on me. At first they were calling me from 331-240-1861. Then they switched to calling me from 331-240-1863. Now they are calling me from this number. I consider this to be harassment.
Called a friend saying she owed money from a store that she doesn't even have an account with.
Person calling didn't want to resolve the issue, she threatened my friend with police.
