Repeated calls several times per day regarding "student loan forgiveness." They're robo calls and I hang up before they identify themselves as anything but their "subject line" in re: student loan forgiveness. I have blocked them, but they still get through.
They wanted me to follow a prompt through for Student Loan forgiveness. They've called several times this week always around 8pm pst . I just hang up on them.
They're more or less legitimate, in the sense that in order to have them contact you, you must have provided them or one of their agents with the means to do so. If you've ever applied for loan forgiveness, or you are a member of a class action suit against a university or college that closed down without your first being granted your degree, and you signed up to join that suit - you did this to yourself. I speak from experience. The best cure for these folks continuously calling you is to answer once, choose "0" for a CSR, and ask them to not call you again and to not share your information any further. That's what I did, and, believe it or not, it's worked pretty well. The calls have slowed down to less than 2 per month now, whereas previously I was receiving 3 to 5 per day.
