I got the same call - last digit missing.
They said they were from "Carpet Care Center"
I asked for their number so I can call back and they refused.
"We can only make outgoing calls from our call center"
I received the same call. I watched as my phone counted down from 10 to 1. The caller never ansered the phone. It worried me because I think it could be a virus or trojan horse. I have received calls from the carpet care before, but I don't own a carpet (hardwood floors). I do think that they are really a carpet care call center. I believe that is a cover.
Got a call at 11am today saying 'Hi I'm [someone - don't remember] and I've been cleaning carpets for ages...' (or something like that). Pressed 1 to speak to a person and when I tried to get them to identify themselves they hung up. It seems that people who don't care about the do not call registry have been calling about carpet cleaning on different disconnected numbers for years. Tell all your friends!! Make an appointment, get them to show up and require them to identify themselves. Then sue the [***] in the small claims court. Just called the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and it's clear they're going to be about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike on this one.
