Beware of a scam artist Hazel Smith. She is also affiliated with phone numbers 5042731165 and 844-228-6340. These people will act like they are coming to your home and your job to get a payment that most likely you do not owe to anyone.
On 8/27/14 I received a voicemail at work from 310-598-7266 from Connie Brown. She said that she wanted to speak to my supervisor regarding serving papers to me. She gave claim # of 8144640 and said that the call was regarding an order that had been submitted to her office this morning. She stated that she needed to verify an address to present a claim at my residence and place of employment. She said that I have charges in a claim filed against me. She said that the contact for the company who has presented the matter can be reached at 855-873-7534 and that if I didn't resolve the matter today she was coming to my work to serve me papers.
She also left the same message on my cel phone except that her call came from a different phone number (626-209-0281). When I called back both phone numbers, there was the same recording which said "You have reached the investigation department. This line does not receive incoming calls" and then hangs up.
My husband called me a few minutes later to tell me that he also received a call from Connie Brown saying that there was an investigation against me and that I needed to call her back.
I called 855-873-7534 to find out what was going on and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was advised that there were no supervisors available. They asked me for a file # and I gave them the file # which was left on my v/m. They said that i owe for a payday loan that I tool out from Horizon back in 8/2013. I have never had a payday loan. When I asked them to validate the debt and asked them why they weren't following FDCPA protocol by stating that they are a debt collector and why they would leave personal information on voice mails, they got very upset. They said that they didn't leave the message. Their investigator, Connie Brown leaves those messages so then I asked them for her phone #. They said that they have no contact with that individual and that she only serves and locates people. I told them that she without a doubt already located me and asked them to have her serve me and refrain from calling me. They said that they could not control when or where she contacts me.
This debt is invalid and there are several complaints online that they are a scamming debt collection company who uses scare tactics to get people to pay.
Do not give this company any money. I contacted my attorney and he validated that they are a fake collection company!
I got the same phone call from that number (310) 598-7266 and same thing! It is a scam! and when I call back that number it also says it is an Investigation Dept and that they do not accept incoming phone calls from that number! I even told that person to stop calling and that I was gonna smack her face and hung up! She called back again and I told her if it is not a scam then meet me outside the LAPD so I can smack her face & she hung up! Here is another bogus phone no (844) 207-1448...With Christmas around the corner people are desperate and stupid!!
I got the same message but asking for a different person. I told them they have the wrong number and to remove me from their list. The dumb [***] lady called again about 3 more times. I just ignored
