got a call from windows tech support since my computer was infected they helped me out to fix my computer now my computer is working fine and much faster so therefor i would like to thank them it wouldnt have possible without ther help.............
Got a call from this number of someone who said they were from Windows customer support. They said that Windows had detected a virus on my computer that my virus scan software did not detect. The virus supposedly could make it possible to have my personal computer files read by outside people, and said they called to help remove it. I asked several times what company they were from and they said "Windows". Started getting suspicious because Windows system is from Microsoft. Through a series of instructions from the person (a woman with an India accent) got as far as Computer Management-->Event Viewer-->Windows Logs-->Application, which came to a list of Information and Errors. When they started to tell me to do something with that info, that's when I told the prson that I can't go any further without verifying that they are ligitimate and asked to have their phone number (310-601-4170) to contact them back when I check them out and cleared. I then went to Microsoft website and got an official phone number to contact customer service. An official Microsoft customer service representative told me that they do not have any "310" numbers and that Microsoft does not call people to tell them that they have a virus. Please be careful about anyone who calls you and says they are representatives of a company, especially if they are asking you to make changes to your computer system.

Checked number on Internet and there is a website (www.windows-tech-support.com), but I know that websites that have several dashes in their name are sometimes "fake" websites to make a company look legitimate. I then went to the official Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com) and called the customer service phone number. I spoke with an official Microsoft customer service representative who told me that they do not have any "310" numbers and that Microsoft does not call people to tell them that they have a virus or any other type of issue unless you first had called them with a complaint.
