I received this call today from a guy with a heavy accent. He claimed there was a problem with my Windows OS and unauthorized files were being attached to my e-mails and downloads but he was going to help. I asked which OS I'm running and he said this is for all Windows OS. I said this is a scam and hung up. He called back seconds later, this time the caller ID showed number 270-298-4951. When I answered he said "I can tell you which OS you're running." I didn't give him a chance, told him to remove my number and stop calling. He tried to talk over me so I hung up again.
Guys name was Richard. But I doubt it since he had a spanish accent. He told me that I owe him money for the new computer he bought me. I laughed and said, "I owe you no such thing, no one bought my computer for me." He got a little offended as did I for such a claim and he told me that I owe him money for the girl the other night. Who employs these type of people? The FTC needs to buckle down a little harder. I answer these calls to tell them to put me on the 'DO NOT CALL' list. But it seems I get more calls now than before. Good job FTC!!
