The 877 # looks like belongs to Level 3 communications... www.level3.com. Not sure how or why they got my cell #.
I received a SMS text message today at 10:09 am from 310-654-9828, and after I fell for it, giving "David" my card information to pay $4.95 Shipping and Handling for my $200 gift card, something inside me said "you idiot"! then 15 minutes late my bank called from the fraud department. I have spent the last 2.5 hours calling numbers, looking at these posts, and canceling my card! Headaches, but hopefully not the end of my don't-have-enough-money-to-afford-to-be-scammed world! DO NOT RESPOND TO STUPID UNAUTHORIZED TEXT MESSAGES, JUST REPORT THE NUMBERS AND PUT YOUR NUMBER ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST! STAY VIGILANT FELLOW RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS!!! the number the bank said came up on my $4.90 charge (notice the 5-cent difference) was NTR Voucher, from CYPRESS (a small nation near Greece), 1877-301-9905. When I called that number from a different phone, I got a recorded message saying that if I did not get my gift certificate, just leave a message with my address again. Are you f***ing kidding me! I am NOT twice an idiot! needless to say, there is no operator at the end that you can speak with and get answers. Also, the customer service number David gave me, 1800-316-9561 is for Discount Savings Club/Center, website: www.myshopperdiscount.com, and they claim that whomever gave this number to me might have tried to offer me some of their services, but they are not connected. Maybe so, maybe they are lying. I WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS CUZ I HATE BEING SCAMMED!!
I called this Allan guy, and he didn't answer was out of office. The number that I called was directly to his business. I tracked it off of this website. I spent the money and recieved no voucher from them. Does anyone know anyway of nailing this guy for the scam and possibly getting money back from him?
i just receive a sms saying i won a wal mart give card $200, and i gave out my vanilla mastercard pre paid. i dont know if it is a scam, and if it my attorney would take care of it, PEOPLE GET THER LOCATION BY CALLING THEM, I HAVE MY PHONE JUNCTION WITH THE COURT IN CASE OF SOMETHING.
