A call from this number this morning at 8 am EST. After a few moments I got a recording saying there was a call and to please hold, which I did. A person came on the line asking for someone I'd never heard of. I told them no one was here by that name and they said okay and hung up. They've called about 15 times in the past week, and this was the first time I talked to anyone. I assume it is a debt agency.
This is probably a debt collector...I am one myself (a good one don't yell at me) and all debt collection agencies are NOT ALLOWED TO CONTACT AN INDIVIDUAL (RESIDENTIAL) ACCOUNT MORE THAN 2X PER WEEK. If you are receiving more than that then call them out on it and it should cease. But as a debt collector just swallow it and pay it. I know it sucks but sometimes you have to bite the bullet. If it's not you they're asking for tell them to fly a kite and remove your name and DO NOT CONTACT ME AGAIN. Verbal contracts do in fact stand for 10 days, need to send in writing if you definitely want it to stop.
