have been reciveing unsolicited phone calls from this number try to call back and have been repeatadly hungup on. thinking about going to my local represenitives office because i am sure i am not the only one. SO MUCH FOR THE DO NOT CALL LIST! Came up on caller ID as local call are but the call was from the california region and i live in the pennsylvannia area.Would not give me a reason to why they were calling.
Just got a call. Let my machine pickup. no message. I used *67 to call back. This is what THEIR machine said:
"thank you for calling the funding raising information center. we tried to contact you earlier with a message from one of the nations finest children's health organizations or public safety groups. If you have any questions please press one and a representative will return your call.
I pressed one and left THEIR own number... (it's the little things).
Bud, DO call your local rep. the DNC list was an excellent idea, and early on it worked fairly well. Then the Scammers adapted & took advantage of the loopholes in the law. They were never fixed. Congress has never updated the law. THAT is what needs to happen!!!
Doc: Respectfully, the President, by Constitutional constraint can have nothing to do with legislation other than to propose it, which ANY senator or congressman can do. That's the way the Constitution was written. Respectfully, the states have no jurisdiction since these are national call centers calling across state lines. This is a federal issue, and railing against anyone but the congress is pointless. (Anyone out there who still thinks the federal govt is 'unnecessary' see FCC and FBI)
Work to get the DNC law updated, and (jmho) stop blaming the President. You want an executive decision to stop any and all unwanted calls?

Any entity that identifies itself in caller ID as "Local Call Area" when its area code indicates it is clearly no such thing is obviously up to no good.
