Male caller identified business as "Sam's Construction" soliciting any type of labor work around house, block walls, etc. Call knew my name. I could hear call center noise in the background. I've blocked these callers, but they use different numbers. No way to stop them until lawmakers pass legislation.

Same caller--identified the business as "Sam's Construction". I have no way of verifying the information I was given, but that's what the caller answered when I asked him for the name of the company. Put a phone call recorder on your line and when you answer these types of calls, first thing you should say is "this call is being recorded" -- they'll probably hang up. If they don't, start asking questions about the company, owner, location etc and then make complaints to the Contractor's Board or any regulatory agency where they're licensed. The caller works in a cold call center, under no supervision. They make dozens of calls an hour--they have your information from a database they purchased. In today's world, you can only temporarily block the calls.
