I have rcvd hundreds of calls, texts from this number to my cell phone and my land-line in the last week.  Typical texts are: "I'm at your front door sweetie let me in"  "Are you still at work?".  All calls are silent for about 4 seconds, then you can hear a click, presumably a hang up.   Except one call when my assistant answered for the first time: A man trying to sound like a woman asked my assistant where I was & that it was a personal call.  Then when I picked up the line, they hung up.

When I stopped answering their calls, they got more aggressive by calling both my business lines about 10 seconds apart, driving everyone in my office crazy.

I have reported to police, had the call traced.  It is from a cell phone.  Phone company will not give out identity of who owns the number.  Without a subpoena.  Police says judge won't allow one unless it rises to a level of threat of physical harm. Online call tracing websites give me someone who hasn't had that number for 10 years.  Police also say that often these types of callers use temporary phones with credit on them so when the credit runs out they discard the phone.  The phone company has no record of who owns these phones.  The caller could also be spoofing (using a false phone number to fool caller ID).

However the police are being aggressive and I will not divulge what they are doing here until the situation is resolved or the caller is apprehended.

I could change all my business phone numbers, but there is no guarantee that they won't do the same to that number.  My business phone number needs to be public for my business.
