Some telemarketer call me with the call id as (310) 799-2333. When I told him that I wasn't interested he started using obsenities and p[ersonal attacks against me. I don't remember the name of the company he was with (or if he even mention one). When I tried call the above number I get a message saying that the number is no longer in service. Anyone know who this company is, or how the call id can be a to a nunmber that is no longer in service?

The phone company sells CNID spoofing as a service, to help large companies show the correct call-back number instead of the branch exchange ID, especially when you have overseas operators calling customers back. The problem is that they don't check to see if the company is legit.
Like the horror movie "DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE"! This is a spoofed number from a sleazeball construction operation offering remodels. In the mood for confrontation today, I answered anyway and this low class street thug sounding guy asks for me. I keep saying "Who's calling?" and then he says his name and I keep asking "What company are you calling from?" which gets him to hang up. This is a scum bag operation based in Orange County, I believe, and a some research might find anyone the outfit. They prey on elderly and the like and probably won't reveal who they are until they show up at your house to rip you off. If you see this number come up - don't answer. If you do - please obtain the name of the company and verify so we can all file complaints to the FTC (donotcall.gov) and get these sleazeballs shut down.
