I had the same experience with winning a contest sponsored by major banks and credit card companies. Asked me if the address they has was correct and it was. I then said this is a unlisted/blocked phone and they hung up.
Caller ID said "Hearst Inc.". I answered and a pleasant sounding English as a first language woman said I had been selected to win some prizes in some contest I never entered sponsored by "major banks and credit card companies". Asked me if the address they had was correct - it was. Then asked how old I was. I said I don't want to answer any questions. Click, they hung up before I finished the sentence. Don't bother picking up ...
