This is a well known scam being run out of call centers in India. The scam was started by a guy in Tracy, California. He purchases people's personal information, and then the threatening calls start. I've been getting these calls for 5+ years now. The script changes every few months, but their objective is the same: scare people into paying for fake debts, by threatening to have them arrested. Just ignore the calls, and if possible have your cell phone provider block them. Also, just be prepared, these people WILL call your place of employment. Your personal information is all over the internet, and is easily obtainable by somebody that wants it. They may be calling your cell phone now, but they are persistent, and will call your work.
I got a call from this # threatning they were calling to let me know that. If i dont contact my attny they would issue a warrant for my arrest they called me at 12:50am i am not very happy to be called at that time of the morning "
I just got the exact same call at 12:10am. It's frustrating to get a scam call like this, but infuriating to get the call in the middle of the night waking me from sleep. Please report it to the Do Not Call Registry. Robo calls can be reported whether or not you are on the Do Not Call list. More complaints may get someone to track them down and stop them from doing this again.
I received a call at 12:30am as well woke me up!!! threatened to have me arrested well COME AND GET ME!!!!!
Whoever this is they need to be stoppped!!!! i am really fed up with these types of phone calls!!!
