Recorded voice offering to lower "your credit card" rate (didn't specify which card so I'm already suspicious) if I connected through to the "representative". I think it's a scam.

Missed this call today but on call ID had name Alan Dam. No message left on our vm. With this economy, folks beware....the snakes are coming out of the muck to snare you...JL is right...surely a SCAM
I answered, heard the recorded message offering to lower credit card interest rates, pressed "9" to speak with a representative, and some guy came on the line. Said they work for a third party highered by the government to help with Obama's plan to "stimulate the economy". Answered some of his questions to see what they were trying to get from me. He asked how much credit card debit I had(I made up a figure) asked what my interest rate were (also made up a figure)and he told me I "qualified". Then I asked him shouldn't he already have this information? That is when the excusses started. "When we get another call we lose the infomation and only have the phone number.", "We are using Windows 95." He told me he would provide the company name and their website afted I tell him what kind of card (visa/mastercard...)I have and the issuing bank. I told him I would contact my card companies myself and his reply was "good luck, you won't get anything done." (I guess I must have annoyed him:-])I hung up.
