Call from 310-929-1585. Supposedly from IRS going to file lawsuit. When I responded great I'll get my tax guy on it and take care of the in person he hung up yelling Amen!
This is the number given from a scam call from the IRS (bogus, not really from the IRS). The original call came from Odessa, NY and the number was 1-607-594-4642. The robo call stated this was a courtesy call from the IRS that they were filling a lawsuit and to get more information on this file contact 310-929-7459. Be sure to file a complaint on the Do Not Call list. The original number 607-594-7459 has also been used to offer computer service for Microsoft issues. You've got to love the stupidity!
I just received this same robo call at about 10:30 AM EST.
The call that I received came from Alton, IL, phone number 618-462-8724.
It appears that this number has been used in the past for a computer scam where the caller says they are from a computer tech department and want to run a diagnostic on your computer.
I was given the same call back number.. I did not call it.
Obviously a recording so you don't hear the east Indian accent. This is not IRS procedure. My call from 310-929-7459 (as per my phone company) showed up as 718-377-9204 (Brooklyn, NY) on my caller ID. 310-929-7459 is San Pedro, CA. They do not have an IRS office in San Pedro, CA. Closest IRS office is in Long Beach, CA.
I got a call from this number this morning, saying I was being sued by IRS. It was a recorded message. I called back to say I was reporting them, and they hung up on me. I have tried calling back to see what they have to say but they do not answer. I know it's a scam. The message was in clear English, the person who answered the call spoke poor English, hard to understand.
