I was getting calls from this 943 number. I called back and it is an automated system prompting you to enter for some huge cash giveaway. I tried staying on the line to talk to a person, but after so long it just hangs up.
My friend suggested I use the "National Do Not Call" company. Its rather simple, call this number (888.382.1222). It is an automated system, so be aware of this. But it'll prompt you to make sure the phone you are calling from is the phone you want to have protected from spam and telemarketers. Within 30 days the system routes your number in a way that detects telemarketing calls and blocks them completely. If you still receive calls after the first 30 days, call the "National Do Not Call" company to file a complaint. I have not yet needed to file a complaint, and hopefully won't have to.
