Woman called and stated she was from Global Imaging. She said she wanted to update their records regarding our office equipment. I told her we do not use Global. She got silent. I told her she could hang up now. She did. Next time, I am going to turn tables (like Seinfeld did on one of his shows) and ask her to provide all her information, then hang up.
I received a call from these people saying they were with our printer company and that they were in the process of updating their records and needed to know the printer id number for every printer we have in house. Clearly a scammer since our printing company would never call up to ask us what printers we have!
This caller was trying to pass herself off as the maintenance company of my photocopier and was requesting the information of the copier. When I advised her my maintenance was local she hung up on me.
Caller identified themselves as from Global Imaging Services. He asked for my printer/copier serial number - when I asked him to provide it and and I would confirm it - he said this is why he was calling... they had had a breach and lost all their information. When I questioned his name and company name again he hung up. Certainly a scam!!
