8877 is a number skype uses for txt messages. Skype is a internet phone (VOIP). Do not call that number because they will either use your phone to make calls (where you pay the bill) or they will try some other scam.
I got the same text and I don't use a credit union either. Is this happening to Sprint users only? Just called 312-205-6450 from a protected land line and got the following message: "thank you for calling call centric, the number you have dialed is not in service...etc" Looks like they've abandoned this number thanks to posts like those above.
