Marketing call in response to an online article I downloaded to learn about VOIP systems. She (Brit accent, likely Indian, think Leonard's old girlfriend on Big Bang Theory!). Looking for CIO and promised to have one of their client companies contact me.
Man with accent wanted to "get some information over" to our VP Marketing (who he named). He claimed not to be selling anything; he just wanted to send some updates. I told him that the company doesn't accept informational calls and that any data must be conveyed via standard mail. He said, "Thank you but no thank you, ma'am," and hung up.
Received two calls back to back from "Ashley" from SunGuard, asking for our IT Department. She sounded like she was trying to fake a British Accent - very badly, I might add. Their number is also coming up as 011 001 312 340 0593 - 011 is international. You can definitely hear that it's a call center - lots of noise in the background.
A lady that sounded indian and british at the same time called and asked for the CIO. I asked her what her call was regarding and she said she wanted to send him an email with some information (she would NOT specify what she wanted). I told her that she can send her information over to our general IT email address (more or less the junk email) and if we are interested in whatever she is calling about we will contact her. She said she needed to speak to the IT manager because she is not allowed to send an email without permission... I told her that she can send her information over to the email address I provided or she will not have contact with anyone. She said she was not interested. Strange call. Im guessing a scammer who didnt get her way.
I have received repeated calls from this phone number, from men and women, who sound as if they are from India. They call to speak with an IT Director (no name given), the CIO, and they state that they are from Sunguard. I have explained that we do not accept unsolicited requests, and unless they had a person to whom I could transfer the call, I could not help them. They usually say they are not interested, or simply hang up. Today I have received 5 call from them. It is obviously a call center because it takes a moment for the call to connect, and I can hear others in the background. Thank goodness for caller id. Now I do not even bother answering the line when they call. I have better things to do than to deal with this.
Short (2 second) voicemail, someone with the indian/british mix accent saying something about Tony CO NY. It's almost like she didn't realize the call connected to VM and didn't hang up fast enough.
