I have an outstanding debt to the Illinois Department of Revenue and this Harris and Harris said the call was regarding that debt. I assumed they were legit, maybe it is a scam.
They have called my Google Voice number two times now in only a couple of days and left same recorded msg: "Hello, This is Harris & Harris Limited. We are debt collectors, please call us at 3124237329. Our office is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.. To 8 p.m.. Central Standard time Friday from 8 a.m.. To 5 p.m.. Central Standard time and Saturday 8 a.m.. To 12 p.m.. Central standard time. Thank you." I've had the number for years and years and have no debt, and never received any debt collections for anyone else, so either it is a bogus company or some person used my number to avoid being found. If you are trying to avoid debt collectors, you're not going to call them back. If you are an honest person, this might make you return the call where they can then scam you. Don't return the call, and block the number if you can. Love Google Voice!
