I am going through the same things,they call my work lines so much they tie us up from taking orders,even our President knows about it.They call from area codes (312),(503),(397),out of Area,Unknown,Restricted,Private... It is Maddening,they laugh about it when we return calls.They use Cash Advance America as the collections base,but when you call those #'s,Not a single one are linked to CAA,and I have several CAAs in my state,close that would call if they had issues,Not someone from "Chicago, IL.".or "Portland,Or.",they also use the names David Brown,,Gary Bishop,and Scott Cooper,or Roy Cooper.Threaten to have warrants sent,Fraud,Obtaining money Through Bogus Information.,They have even threatened,My Wife,and 3 Co Workers. I mean we have warned them of Law Suites, Harassment Charges, Even the State D.A,They stop for a few days,then begin thier stupid spoofing all over again.One of our officers at the P.D called the 312 #,and all he got was a Voicemail,and left a particularly firm threat of Prosecutions there.But the problem is they can't prosecute if the other identifies themselves as a Debt Collector,or if it is a scam type of set up..But they are tracking the #'s
Last week the man's name was Jared Brown, this week it is David Brown who transferred me to his supervisor Randy. They have been harassing us at the university I work for trying to reach one of our employees. Randy YELLED at my supervisor about being irresponsible for not knowing anything about our employee's finances. At which point she slammed the phone down. They call relentlessly and it's one of those calls from India wired through a US phone number and we are sick of it.
We are getting the same harassing phone call.
He has threaten to call and harass us at our job.
He calls from private numbers and unknown numbers so I can't block them!
They even made fun of my decent father in law!

It sounds like a extortion scam operation.. a telephone style DDOS attack is one of the many way's they try to extort money from you.

Every one of you should file complaints : File reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,CFB,FTC & FCC..

You may want to provide this information to the authorities, as the magicJack VocalTec Ltd. company (which fully owns YMAX Corporation) has been responsive, as best I can tell from reports, in providing call records and phone number registrations when subpoenaed by authorities, at least. If all of the identifiable numbers are registered to a single account, you may be half-way there to finding out who is doing this to you, provided the registration information is accurate. And if there is real abuse here, you might be able to at least make things more expensive for them by having their account or accounts closed. MagicJack does a pretty good job of tying numbers to particular devices (from what I read, even their phone apps do that), so your harasser or harassers may have to keep buying new physical devices to continue having their jollies.
And given what has been reported so far, they don't seem to be using particularly sophisticated spoofing techniques.
