Dude just called me too. I did, however, apply for a loan. He won't give me any info on who gave him my application, and he keeps telling me to go to a store nearby to get some type of coupon to verify I have money in my account. I hung up the phone on him.
I got a call and some guy left me a message saying he was from GE Capital and my loan app was approved.. for $6,000....really? Cuz I never filled out a loan application!! First his name was Jack Daniels. Then after several hang ups, (on me, apparently I was asking too many questions, like "what is your address"..) his voice mail said his name was Mike Ditka. We never applied for a loan, called the guy back, asked to speak to his supervisor , he said he WAS the supervisor and there was nobody above him. ( Really? CSR's and Loan Officers are now running banks like GE Capital? They don't have a street address, *rolls eyes, and he accused US of harassing HIM!) I do however feel SOME comfort in knowing we are not the only ones that got this call and hopefully our identity has not been stolen!
