Just received a call from this number and let it go to voicemail. Robotic message telling me they were the IRS and it was very important that I call them back immediately because they were getting ready to filing and IRS lawsuit against me.
Apparently they think we're all stupid and don't pay attention to all the news reports and messages sent out by the Illinois Attorney General letting us know that the IRS doesn't call, and definitely doesn't call from the 312 number.
Glad I didn't answer and have added another number to my list of blocked callers.
Been getting these calls as well. This last one threatened "final call" & threatened to file suit against me. Since I know I don't owe anything to the IRS as well as having worked in the Credit Industry for around 30 years, I know this is not how the IRS would contact anyone. Robo calls are not how collectors of any kind contact you. They may use auto call to dial the phone number but it will then go directly to a live collector; & in the case of the Government, it would be sent in a registered letter for you to sign so they know you have been notified. This needs to stop & it's our representatives in Washington that need to take care of this!
