Automated political poll. Left the phone off hook, they were still connected 5 minutes later. If everyone did this they either would need more lines or hardware and it wouldn't be cost effective.
Some political candidate or PAC is likely paying a lot of money for these surveys. It would be sweet revenge if everyone who resented being disturbed by automated calls like this on a Sunday morning were to give them nonsensical answers to their questions so the results turned out to be completely worthless and unreliable in predicting the outcome of the upcoming primary. Maybe the politicians would then use a different survey strategy four years from now that didn't include placing thousands of unwelcome robo-calls. I've already cast my ballot in early voting, but if I'd been home when they called me earlier today, it would have been fun to claim that I intended to vote for Darth Vader as a write-in candidate for whatever political office the survey was about.
I got a call from this number at noon today. Caller ID said it was "Anonymous". Since I kept my answering machine turned off, and did not answer, after 6 or 7 tings they finally got the clue and hung up. I have since learned this is a political survey. Sorry, I don't take surveys of ANY KIND firmly believing that my decisions about anything are my own and PERSONAL.
I can't wait till the political crap is over. I will vote but I wish they would stop badgering me with political calls. I wish they would get the hint and stop calling but I guess you can't teach stupid. They have no common sense.
