Received a call from Savina. She wanted to speak to a patent person at my company (guess they're trawling for lawyers now). She is setting up a "patent protection and enforcement meeting". When I asked her which companies she was working with she threw out Oracle, Cisco and Motorola. Number 312-540-3000 x 6525
JIM HOLMAN blocked his number and wouldn't even give his company name in our first "match" in the morning. Second "round" came late afternoon and I managed squeeze out the company name AND the above phone number. The he proceeded to get totally belligerent with me and used the word "gatekeeper" a DEAD giveaway that he's familiar with my "work"...
We have been receiving a call from a Jay Webster that say he is doing a project on substation automation and needed to know if this would be something that our company would be interested in.
A woman called the first time and wouldn't give any information i.e. name, company, number. She called the second time and said her name was Ashley from the Alternatives Advisory Board, but would not give out any further details except her number 312-540-3000. I guess this is just the beginning of the calls. . .great. . .what a waste of time.
It seems as though this company claims to be putting on conferences across all industries...never a good sign since the best ones are specialists. In any event, the message was barely understandable and sounded like the person (Albert, didn't catch his last name) was reading from a script. I hope they don't keep calling.
I just received a call and message from this number and when I searched the number I found this site. I've been an administrative assistant for the past 20 years and I think it is rather humorous that most people who come to complain on forums and boards like this are not executives but assistants who obviously can't do their job properly. The young woman I spoke to was very polite and nice and was clear why she was calling.
My advice to you is treat them with the same respect you would like from them. That means listen as to why they are calling because in the end it could be something beneficial to you, your job or your company. Ignoring calls will not stop them from calling, but listening and actually picking up the phone might.
