I got a call from this number for the first time tonight. Lady claimed to be calling from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) asking about kids vaccinations. It was around 10 PM Central. I became pissed and decided to spam back. I said "prove to me that you're calling from the CDC because this is way too late in the night to be calling from Atlanta." The lady fumbled and asked "what timezone are you in?" which just proved my point. I retorted "well, what time zone are YOU in?" To which she replied "Eastern" and then, after I said something to the effect of "how the heck would CDC be calling me 11 PM at night?", the lady paused for a moment and said, "I'm sorry, that was Central" [I am Central so I think she looked me up and decided to go with Central herself]. At this point I became angry at the stuff these people were pulling. This is just wrong. I mean, come on. This is freaking vaccinations for kids we're talking about. The lady gave me a toll free number to call back [the number I was given: 877-267-8154]. I asked for a definitive webpage at the CDC's website listing the toll free number. After this, hilarity ensued. Suffice it to say that I was eventually given a website with www.cdc and "two dots" after that, yadda yadda yadda [I asked twice "are you sure there are two dots after cdc and she confirmed both times - she appeared to be really clueless about things and fumbled at the most basic of questions). At which point I just hung up. Entertain them like I did if you have time. If they call back, I will be very happy to speak with them (provided I am in the mood to pick up). Empower yourself against these spammers.

The webpage also lists your privacy rights and the kind of info the real callers would ask for.
In short, 312-578-7009 is spam. Give them hell. Report them to authorities.
