There is more to this story about the "Can you hear me?" calls. They reported on the news tonight that these are robocalls. The computer tells you "their name" and then asks if you can hear them. If you say "yes", it records your answer. Then later a real person will call you back, tell you that you owe money for a bill or something, then demand payment. They say that you've already agreed to pay this bill and then play a recording of you saying "yes" recorded from the "Can you hear me"
call. So don't answer calls you don't recognize the number and DON'T SAY YES!

that the name of the caller on my caller ID said "Chicago Mercant" which I assume would be abbreviated for "Chicago Mercantile".
Got a call from 3126386914 on 1/30/17 in the AM. Asked to speak with Richard, I said this is he. A female introduced herself and said she was offering a stay in Las Vegas. I said : "not interested, take me off your list, have a nice day"
, then I hung up.
