I use 800NOTES all the time to check out unknown phone numbers when they call. I use it so often, I've actually saved the link to 800NOTES as a shortcut on my desktop. 800NOTES is great! THANKS! That being said, I found Megan's posting (above) so utterly useless that I finally decided to post something here to provide some actual info about this number, other than the lone fact, "Got a call from this phone number." like Megan wrote. Sheesh! Anyway, 312-647-2841 (today, ending in 71) started calling me out of the blue. They called me twice a day every day for the last week. When I finally answered in order to tell them to quit calling me, there's never anybody there. After 8 seconds, the call simply disconnects. I finally had enough of this and called them back today with my number blocked. A heavily accented woman said the company name was Creedance (I think) Resource Center (or something like that) . It sounded like a typical telephone boiler room in the background. Plenty of conversation in close proximity. A debt collector, no doubt. When I asked her why they keep calling me, she said it was for personal business reasons that she could not discuss without knowing who I was. I gave her my phone number and she looked it up. She said they were calling trying to reach someone named Leah Mathison or Matterson or something. I'm not a woman and I told her that I was not Leah and that they had my phone number in error, I went on to tell her I've had this phone number for a few years and I've never known anyone by that name. The heavily accented woman, I think she said her name was "Kate" (although I doubt that) told me she would remove my number from their system so I would, she assured me, NEVER hear from them again. We'll see about that.
