There are good companies with less than informed agents. The program is a good program, it isn't for everyone but it does help most users. Again it is trying to decide which program is best suited for your needs. As a ComEd or Ameren customer you should know exactly what you are paying per kWh and know how to read your electric bill. If you want to know how much you are paying for the supply portion of your bill simply take the supply dollar amount owed... on the ComEd bill for residential it is located on the left side under Supply... the dollar amount is in bold, example... the supply bill is $86.90 divide that by the usage which is the last column under total usage on the left side.. example 1338 kWh's used would give you a supply rate of $0.06495. if there are additional line items under the supply portion such as transmission, capacity, purchased electric adjustment or customer service charge.. those are all added into the total supply $ amount owed. Be clear ComEd does not make mistakes in adding charges... (mistakes are usually only caused by mis reads on the meters- which they will fix) . But keep in mind when your ComEd bill shows you pay $0.0599 for Supply, and there are other line items below... you need to add those in as well... hence divide total supply dollar amount by usage. Don't take anyone's word that you are paying more unless you do the math yourself to see what you are really paying. Scams only work when the public is not educated.
