Tried to scam my wife who sells Thirty-One bags. So far all is done via email, but says 'she' is deaf and includes phone number as "Text Only" contact. Placed order, sent "check" for couple thousand more than actual order. Wants overage refunded (probably via wire transfer). Have not received final instructions yet. Says name is Kate Michaels, but in one of her copy/paste paragraphs forgets to change name which appears as 'sarah.' Throws Bible verses around like candy. One of 'her' paragraphs below:

I had just read from my Debtors new Secretary that the payment has been issued out to you and that you will be receiving it soon. But there is a big problem because she informed me that she sent out the whole amount her boss was owing me instead of her to just send you the amount for the items I'm buying from you. I was so mad at her when I heard this because I don't know if my money will be safe with you when you get it. But I do believe it will because the Bible ask to trust others so we can also be trusted,so I will trust You. I wanted her to send the
remaining of the funds to my Daughter whose wedding is coming up in 2 weeks. I just don't know what to do cos I am totally confused. Please, may I know if my money will be safe with you when you get the payment? Will You be able to get the remaining of my money sent to my daughter after you might have deducted your amount for the item because she will be needing it for her wedding preparation. I need you to have the remaining money sent to my her as soon as you receive the payment so that she get get her wedding stuffs...

Got final instructions this evening. Naturally, wanted her to send difference via Western Union. When I let this good, Bible-quoting, Christian "lady" know we were on to the scam, the final reply was:
"I laugh u a lot, u can only try but (I) can run ahead of the tracks. Go f*** ur sef (sic) and learn more"

Obviously this was a person, likely a man, with a poor command of English. An interesting twist was the scammer claimed to be a Christian deaf woman. I am just surprised she wasn't also a blind quadriplegic ...
I too sell Thirty-One Bags, and I just received an email with an actual order within the last week. Something about her recent email just seemed off. So I googled scams and Kate Michaels. THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!! I'm just praising God that I looked here before continuing. It seemed SOO legit, having an address and an actual order. Again thank you for sharing!!!!
