This 312-809-5184 called my today at 3:04 PM, Caller ID said ATT SVC CTR. I did that answer then hang-up quickly. If this was really AT&T calling, the Caller ID would say 1-800-288-2020. This is a SCAM!!!
"AT&T" called me offering me a "gift".
It seemed strange.
So I asked them for their number, so I could call them back.
The girl who called me was STUMPED.
She said “Hold on” and was gone for a while.
Finally she came back, acted weird, and said, “We don’t have our number, but if you look it up on your bill, just call it and ask for the HBO Department.”
It seems odd that she didn't know her own company's phone number.
And I doubt that AT&T has an "HBO Department".
They have called me once per day for the last 3 days. Every time I answer the pitch is to give me free HBO for 3 months; all I have to do is give them my acct number and pin - nor bloody likely. All callers have had heavy accent. I told the last one I was calling the police & FTC when I hung and he hung up on me immediately.
It's a phishing scam. As stated by others, AT&T would be from toll free numbers, not some area code which isn't even in your state most likely. I have gotten this same call from other numbers also. I truly wish there were a way to send a deadly beam through the phone line back to the scumbags that call and end this crap.
Calls daily never leaves a message. Contacted local AT&T store said if AT&T were to call it would be on a 800 number not 312. Even if the local store were to call CID would say the 800 number. 312 is a scam - don't even answer!
