Wow, won a wonderful trip. But could not nor would answer any questions. Said he could not hear me well, but wanted to ask me a few questions. Hung up and put number on the rejection list.
Missed call - no msg. While I appreciate the extremely detailed options available to combat these types of callers, and I am an "A" type detailed person..... I have come up with the simplest solution for ME....
1) I don't answer calls that I don't know.... if you are not in my contact list then you are assumed to be an unwanted call.
2) If there happens to be a message, I listen... just to determine if it may be valid...you know contractors, one-offs, pharmacy, etc. If you are determined "valid" I add you to an appropriate 'group' in my phone.
3) IF IT IS TRULY SPAM/SCAM (according to my criteria) I add the number to a SPAM CALLER contact that I have created. Note it may be necessaray to create several of these "Contacts" (ex: SPAM1, SPAM2, etc.) to hold all the numbers, but worth the minimal effort.
4) I downloaded YouMail - an awesome app (again for me)... where you have the option to tag numbers to "ditch" which does not allow them to come thru, block and notify you via email (if your ditching an ex lets say so you know that they are attempting to call), play a nasty message.... my favorite is the "Harrassing caller msg" that says that calls are being deemed Lewd or Threatening and are being tracked and reported to the proper authorities.... Several of these msgs "hang up" and do not allow an option for a message. Obviously this is applied to numbers you have already confirmed for yourself are not valid to you by one of the steps above...and you can set different messages to different callers or groups.
5) ENJOY! My phone is quiet....obviously new ones like this number will slip in once in a while, but maybe the word is out that my number is not worth trying to attack... Who knows.... works for me...might work for you... :)
