Started getting calls last week from a Mr. Adams at this number also a call from a Lisa Grant of Arnold Scott Harris, law firm @ 312-604-7192. The calls from Adams use something to diguise the caller's voice. According to the prefix the calls are from Chicago. They want forwarding of their messages for a family member. QUESTION--why are we being hounded all of a sudden?

These people started calling us, too. Don't assume they really have something on your relative, just because they know the name. They can get it any number of ways.
In our case, they don't know our real names. THey're attempting to contact a made-up name that we use in fun on a particluar document. Looks like they're bogus.
As well, I collected the ph #s they say to call...and also the caller IDs that correspond with the time of their threatening voicemails...and searched them on bing.com. The blogs about these #s invariably refer to people getting harassed for names that aren't connected with them, and for charges they don't owe. Apparently, LOoASH trumps up charges for tolls, parking tickets, red-light violations.
Since we have a very clean record, we're doubly sure they're lying scum. JIC, we checked Illinois Tollway Authority records and City of Chicago records. More confirmation that Law Offices of ASH are definitely lying scum..because there's nothing there, just as we knew.
Several years ago, another firm tried this. I searched online about them, too. Turned out they'd been sued by several Attorneys General from several states, with judgements entered against them. Yet they were still at it. So must be giving a kickback to politicians to let them keep up their shady work.
Actually, they are a legit law firm. If you go to any DMV in Chicago, there is a desk there with employees of ASH. They handle payment plans for the Chicago Department of Revenue. For example, if you rack up a bunch of parking tickets and you cannot pay it all off at once, you set up a payment plan so that the city does not boot or tow your car. The law office buys your tickets from the city, and you just pay the law office. Like most places that handle debt collection, if they have a certain phone number associated with a name, I have no doubt that they will call incessantly even if the number is wrong. But being obnoxious is not the same thing as being lying scam artists.
