Same thing happened to me...Charges of $11.99 showed up in my cradit card statement 2 days ago...Keep calling this number, voice mail message says the person does not take any calls at this time.....be careful, block your credit cards right away...
6.10.08 To continue this saga...While we don't have a record of ever receiving a call from this number, we did (today) see a charge to our bank account that posted yesterday (6.10.08) for $12.99 as "RN NAMES, 312-924-3758, IL". My husband tried to call this unknown number and says that number rings and then a recording says that the party is unavailable and eventually disconnects the call.
We have no clue who this is or what this charge is for...but it seems like we've been scammed. What is scary is that if they've done this once...taking money from our account...they'll do it again!
I never received a phone call either, but saw this charge on my online banking on yesterday (6/10/08). I tried to call the number that I saw on this board, but it's a fast busy. I just got off the phone with my bank. They said once it clears tonight, I'm to call their disputes office in the morning and they will dispute it. Where does everyone bank that this has occured to...if everyone doesn't mind saying? I didn't know if it was just one bank in particular or many. Thanks
And you can stop them from taking money from that account again. You can get that name blocked so nothing will hit your account. I work in the banking industry and this has happened before to me with unauthorized debits to my account for a past due bill.
