I recieved the same type of messages from the same number saying they are interested in my riding mower.... n After finding this post .. I replied and asked for his name and address so i can forward it to the FBI as he was reported as a scammer... ..................................... No reply yet.......... LOL ............ We received a text saying: "I'm interested in buying your item on craigslist" and sent a description of my item and I tried to call back but got a google messaging service. Another text: " I really appreciate your response to my earlier text. I'll offer you $3400 USD and since there is no problem with the car. I'm ready to purchase the car and make the payment to you through paypal. I'll not be able to view the car due to my absent in town. So please text me your name and paypal email address to submit the payment for you now. I've a pick up agent coming for the collection once funds cleared."
Figured it was too good to be true and they never called me back, just texts. THANKS for the other posts about this scam!
Same thing happened to me about craigslists but when I told him that the money box kept his check he threatened to call FBI on me.. I googled the number and found this then told him to call the FBI on me. Easy enough for them to trace a call or text so I'm leaving it alone now.
Ditto as Debbi M. says from this number " Person sent me a text about my Craigslist posting for large dollar amount items, saying they want to purchase them and for me to send them my name and address for bank check. I said cash only and they said they had no one to bring me cash! Said they would send their "movers" to pick up items once bank check clears. Seems strange... wording on email appears to be spam. Certainly not willing to give up my personal information!" Same exact M O and message.... Obviously does not know the meaning of NO CHECKS NO IOU's NO Promisory Notes or wire transfers.... CASH IN PERSON.... Probally a Nigerian with a stolen phone from Chicago....
