Caller screen read "unknown caller" and phone number. Call went to voice message, a recording offering to seniors a medical alert system. Over the past three years we've received numerous solicitations directed at seniors, particularly for medical alerts, from different telephone numbers. I log these calls and periodically send complaints to FCC. Is it right or fair that the only sure way of shutting off these nuisances is to rip out one's telephone???
This has nothing to do with who is in the White House. The people making these calls are criminals who respect no laws. The government is no more permitting these people to make these calls than they are permitting people to rob banks. Criminals will engage in criminal activity regardless of which party controls the White House. Do you really believe these calls would stop if Romney had been elected?
Got a call today from 312-956-2076. Says "Cell Phone IL" in the Caller ID. Was a recorded message "For all senior citizens" saying that you can get a free home security system and a free prescription card. The male recorded voice assures you that these things have been paid for and repeats this a few times during the call. Just press "1" and confirm your mailing address. I don't understand why I get these calls. I've signed up to the "Do Not Call" list, but still get this type of spam calls. Blocked this number.
If it would work for you, turn off the ringer on your phone... At least they have to leave a message... and you can go through and delete the the messages when you have time... and you don't have to get up and answer these spam calls.
