I am getting multiple calls a day from different #'s stating they are from microsoft/windows and I have a corrupted system and they can show me how to fix it. If you ask them a question they have to stop reading and they get all confused. DO NOT give them any information and do not let them get into your system.
Called super early. Said he was from Microsoft. I could hardly understand his accent. He said my pc was being hacked and he knew because "a light linked to my pc at their office was blinking". Now, I don't work in IT but I know there is no gigantic board of lights that blinks whenever a microsoft computer is at risk of hacking. If they actually want people to fall for this, they need a better script to read from.
Same company calling from multiple numbers, all from the (313) area code. I block one number, and they simply call from another number. I do not answer them.
Just got the call from 313-049-5154. Heavy Indian Accent saying he was from Microsoft saying that their "security servers" are receiving "critical alerts" that my computer is being hacked. Looks like their scripts are getting a little more realistic...didn't listen to the rest of what he had to say.
