Got a call from 313-230-1305 today. Let it ring. No message. Had a cell phone call also today from 313-884-4647. When I tracked it, was a spoof call - in MY 313 area code - that would have reconnected me to Bogota, Colombia, if I'd answered it. Looks like some kinda new trick.. Spoofers use your area code to look like they might be legitimate, then reconnect you on a pass-thru to some foreign country so they can run up your long-distance phone charges.
I just received a call from 313-230-1305 and was asked about my vehicle extended warranty and he needed to confirm my mileage on my vehicle now. I thought this was strange because my warranty has an expiration date or a mileage limit. The person was hard to understand thick accent Mexican or South American, so this set a red flag. He kept asking for my mileage and when I asked what was on my policy he hung up. Another scam but I don’t know just what for!
