Just got a similar phone call. They asked for someone else in my household and when I asked if I could take a message, the man on the line told me "There is no message, I will call back some other time," which infuriated me. I should have asked what the call was regarding first. I searched IMC and Google turned up a credit agency, but when I searched IMC and the number, it turned up results related to the NRA. When I called the number back straight from my caller ID, I get a message from the NRA. I don't care too much for the NRA, but I would expect them, as a legitimate organization, to at least state their business. It is possible that if the caller is not affiliated with the NRA, they could have compromised a phone line and be using it for illicit purposes. If I get another call from this number, I will report back here.
People or organizations calling without stating their business are an instant dealbreaker for me. To me, the caller sacrifices their right to respect and human decency. I have absolutely no problem being polite and cooperative, but if you are intentionally obscuring the nature and reason for your call, which you initiated, all bets are off (short of threatening the life or safety of you or your loved ones). Intentional, blatant scam artists who are relying on taking advantage of the elderly or the underinformed deserve nothing but scorn and contempt.
IMC--National Rifle Association. repeatedly calls at different times of day and on the weekends. I have told them I'm not interested and please do not call again. I hate the NRA!
This is a marketing corporation which seems to be based in Amsterdam, Netherlands with offices in the US. Calls could possibly be made by someone working from their home. I found nothing associated or affiliated with the NRA.
