I had a message on my answering machine from a man stating that he was Special Agent John Anderson with the DEA.  He was asking for Arthur XXXX (who is my brother who is deceased 3 years ago) and said if he did not call this number back right away a warrant would be issued for his arrest.  (313-263-4232)   It scared me at first.  I have not returned the call.  First of all they cannot arrest someone who is not even living anymore.  I do not believe that they would call a person and then threaten arrest.  After looking around online, this seems to be a scam and it has happened to ALOT of other people too.

A man claiming to be John Anderson, from the DEA called saying that he was investigating online gambling links to money laundering, and that I was a subject in his investigation. He told me that if I didn't cooperate he was going to issue a warrant for my arrest.

The government doesn't operate in this way. I've worked for a government agency for more than 30 years, and this is not the correct procedure. So I told this crook to send his warrant because I would love to meet him and burry my foot in his face. He's called and left a message, since. Still waiting for the police to stop by. In the mean time I'm journalling hos calls so I can file a report on his sorry, thieving, behind.

Bottom line: this guy's a scammer.

Same thing happened to me.  John Anderson of the DEA called and indicated he was investigating a pharmaceutical company.  He indicated that a package had been apprehended by customs border control in my name back in 2007.  I indicated I hadn't ordered anything and he said well we have the proof.  He said they were gonna do further investigation.  I asked how I knew he was really from the DEA and he asked if I wanted him to send an agent out to get me.  Unbelievable!!! Called the REAL DEA and found out this is a scam.  They said John Anderson would probably call back and say that he could make it go away if I paid a fine.   He hasn't so far but its only been two days.

You need to go on the REAL DEA website and report it under Extortion Scam Online Reporting.
